About

Heritage Professional, Museologist & Educator — working at the intersection of culture, education and AI

I'm a museums and heritage professional with more than twenty years' international experience in collections management, curation, interpretation and strategic planning — across world-class universities and beyond.

My passion is taking collections and museums to the next level: founding new museums, building exhibitions and education programmes that tell fresh stories, or simply stabilising and cataloguing an old collection. After fifteen years in senior roles in the UK and US, I founded Artefact Consulting to bring that expertise to small and medium museums, public institutions and private collectors.

More recently, through Hive Ventures, I've focused on one of the sector's most pressing questions: how AI can be used responsibly in cultural and humanities contexts — always with a critical eye on accuracy, bias and cultural sensitivity. It's the same instinct that has always driven my work: using new tools thoughtfully to help collections tell richer, truer stories.

AI, Culture & Heritage

Using AI thoughtfully to help collections tell richer, truer stories.

The institutions that benefit most from AI will be the ones that use it critically — alert to accuracy, bias, voice and cultural sensitivity. Through Hive Ventures I design structured AI pilots and governance-aware workflows, and evaluate their outputs for factual and interpretive quality. A few projects I'm developing:

LabelLab — AI Interpretive Pilot Hive Ventures
Prompt templates for drafting exhibition labels in an institution's own voice, with structured evaluation of outputs and automated flagging of sensitive content.
ExhibitSpark — Curatorial Ideation Pilot Hive Ventures
AI-assisted ideation around collections, audiences and curatorial specialisms, with rubrics for reasoning quality and built-in bias and uncertainty checks.
WanderWise — AI-Assisted Educational Content Hive Ventures
Repeatable prompt systems producing age-appropriate cultural learning materials, refined against clear benchmarks for tone, accuracy and cultural sensitivity.
